Denver is a photographer’s delight – day or night!

The Mile High City! Leave A Legacy is proud to serve the Denver community from our new studio location. A question we get from both serious photographers and tourists alike is “What is some cool stuff to do in Denver?”

You won’t want to miss your opportunity to take great Denver pictures. There are plenty of stunning vistas and evocative street scenes just begging to be ‘shot’. Even the most ordinary city corner can become a picture worth taking when framed carefully. When the light and shadows play upon the Rocky Mountain foothills at just the right angles, a day spent photographing Denver can be utterly joyful. Explore with open eyes.

When you have some memorable shots, be sure to pay us a visit and learn about our digital scrapbooking and photo gift ideas!

Did you know that Popular Photography voted Denver the ‘most photo-friendly city in America’ last year?  And it’s been named countless times as one of the nation’s most –walkable cities… not just for its pedestrian only long streets like the 16th street mall, but also for its parks and bridges and eclectic, cozy neighborhoods.

No wonder we opened a digital studio in the heart of this walkable, photographable town!

As for things to do in Denver, here are some of the top-rated tours and sites.  Enjoy!

bulletGetting Around

There are more sights and photo opportunities in Denver than we can list. You don’t need a Denver guide to see it all. Get out and explore. The city has convenient public transportation available with Light Rail Denver services. Denver also has an excellent bike share program that allows you to pick up a bike at a sharing station and drop it off when you’re done. Perfect for seeing the sites in summer and catching the unexpected… as only a biker can!

bulletDenver Microbrew Tours

Denver is growing in reputation as one of the microbrewery capitals of the world. The city is known as the “Napa-Valley” of microbrews, and beer lovers find no shortage of award-winning beers to sample. The Denver Microbrew Tour offers a two-hour guided exploration that highlights both the microbreweries and the sites and history of Denver.

The tour includes samples at each brewery, and a coupon for a free pint at one. Learn about the history of beer and see first-hand how it’s made. You’ll taste more than 10 different beers, learn some Denver history, and no-doubt snap a few shots worth putting in your digital scrapbook aka: Denver memory book!

bulletDenver Inside and Out

Denver Inside and Out is a unique walking tour/scavenger hunt/street theater based on the 1922 robbery of $200,000 from the Denver Mint. A leisurely walk through downtown brings you to shops where clues related to the actual robbery lie. Character actors wait to add a realistic feel to the experience–and offer some photo opps. Participants of all ages enjoy the added twist on a walking tour of some of Denver’s top attractions such as Larimer Street and the 16th Street mall, and appreciate the off-the beaten track sights the tour follows.

bulletThe Denver Art Museum

The Denver Art Museum is the jewel of downtown. From the outside you will be amazed by the blend of ultra–modern and traditional architecture (don’t forget your camera), and inside you can see exhibits that span artistic and historical traditions from around the world. Exhibits change on a regular basis.

bulletDenver Zoo, Denver Botanic Gardens and Museum of Natural History

These three attractions are all within walking distance of each other – just northeast of Downtown.

Each offers a plethora of photo opportunities, and is fun for the entire family. To see all three would be more than a full day, so plan accordingly.

bulletThe Molly Brown House Museum

Fans of Titanic can pay a visit to the home of the sunken ship’s most famous survivor. The opulent home was built in 1889, and gives you a sense of the period and the life of its vibrant and “unsinkable” resident. Fans of this museum may want to check out other historical sites through the Denver Story Trek service.
