Document your child/grandchild’s first day of school. You can use the school sign, fence or tree as your marker every year to record how tall they are in comparison. You’ll not only document how tall they are but also their hair style, what their backpack looks like and what they feel (from their expression) about their first day back to school. Once your kids get into high school they may be to mortified by you and your camera to patiently pose for the shot. You can either shoot it at another time (on Saturday) or you can do what I do with my high schoolers…I shoot a picture while I’m still sitting in the car and they just do a quick turn around and without making a scene.
